Jump Rock, Macquarie Pass National Pass
A popular hub in summer, this small walk packs a punch in lush rainforest, epic deep pools, cascades and the famous Jump Rock. A great walk anytime of year, enjoying plenty of wildlife and a challenging walk to some of Wollongong’s most gorgeous cascade sites.
A magical oasis of luscious green rocks, trickling streams and a dark mossy canopy of trees blanketed by maidenhair ferns and tiny mushrooms underfoot.
Starting from the back of Mt Keira initially in the suburbs, the creek quickly turns into pristine wilderness so typical of the surrounding rainforest areas. A relatively flat creek with a distinctive fork, leading you up towards Mt Keira Scout Camp, or South towards the cascades under Mt Robertson.
This trail is an interesting walk that is mostly single track, a fairly easy trail that takes you to some gorgeous views and meanders through various types of bush and immense biodiversity. Along the way there is sporadic signage which points out some interesting trees and facts along the way. The trail is reasonably well marked and there are some small bridges over creeks and sedge land that make it a comfortable walk.
Kelly’s Falls, Garrawarra State Conservation Area
This is a really popular walk mostly due to the fact that there is a really impressive swimming hole with some epic high places to jump off…if you dare!!
